OUTDOOR & INDOOR PLAY
Children have daily opportunities to use large muscle skills, learn about outdoor environments and express themselves freely and loudly on our outdoor playground equipment. Our playground for 1 and 2 year old children is gated and equipped with various ride-on toys, tunnels and a slide with padding underneath for your child’s safety. Children over 3 years old enjoy a playground with slides, monkey bars, a sandbox, bikes and other ride-on toys. Good Shepherd Daycare is situated on 27 Acres of land so the children are able to enjoy nature without feeling cramped or confined. During inclement weather, children play in our fully equipped indoor playroom or gym.
FOOD
Breakfast, lunch and snacks are provided to the children at Good Shepherd Daycare. All of our meals are nutritionally balanced and have been approved by both the State Board of Health and the CACFP. Our menus are posted weekly on our parent board. We provide Gerber Gentle Ready Formula and Gerber Baby Food for infants. We also have options for lactaid and soy formula if a child has milk allergies. You may bring your own formula and baby food if you prefer. *We are a nut free center.
SAFETY & SECURITY
Your child’s safety is our priority. Good Shepherd Daycare is equipped with over 25 security cameras located within our facility. Identification must be presented daily when picking up your child. Anyone entering the facility must be buzzed in by our trained staff. We are also equipped with an emergency alarm that has direct access to the Merrillville Police Department.
OUR STAFF
At Good Shepherd Daycare all of our lead teachers have a CDA degree or higher. All of our staff takes an additional 20 hours of training each year to ensure the highest quality care for your child.
CHAPEL
Once a week the children experience an exciting and engaging chapel service at Good Shepherd Daycare. Music, object lessons, games and an age appropriate message keeps the kids feeling encouraged and inspires them to be all that God has created them to be.
