In Exodus 20 Moses receives the Ten Commandments from God on Mount Sinai. The first three commandments convey that YHWH is the one and only God. The commandments express what a holy God requires of his people, and what a loving God desires for them. Throughout Israel’s history, they could not consistently obey the law of God. As Christians, we live by the grace of God through Jesus who frees us from the bondage of sin.
