The Gospel of John pt. 5 - Rick Cochran

In John 1:11–13, we see that Jesus came first to His own creation and covenant people, Israel — a  nation chosen not for privilege but for purpose, beginning with God’s promise to Abraham in  Genesis 12 to bless all nations through him — yet many did not receive Christ; still, their rejection  did not thwart God’s plan but became the means by which salvation extended to the Gentiles,  as described in Romans 11, where believers are grafted into the existing covenant tree through  faith, not ethnicity, so that now all who receive Jesus are given the right to become children of  God — born not of blood or human effort, but of God — adopted by His will, as affirmed in  Ephesians 1, and brought into a new identity, intimate relationship, and secure inheritance as  His sons and daughters.
