The Gospel of John pt. 7 - Rick Cochran

This sermon explains the closing section of the prologue in the Gospel of John (John 1:14–18),  emphasizing that Jesus—the Word made flesh—reveals God fully and brings life, light, grace,  and truth to the world. The speaker highlights that the prologue functions as a theological lens  for the entire gospel, presenting Jesus as fully God and fully human who makes it possible for  people to become children of God. A central theme is “grace upon grace,” meaning the greater  grace revealed through Jesus that fulfills and surpasses the grace seen in the law given through  Moses, while affirming that God’s gracious character has existed since the beginning, even in  the Old Testament. The sermon also explains that although no one has seen God in His full  glory, Jesus—who exists in perfect unity with the Father—makes God known through His life,  character, and actions, showing that to know and follow Jesus is to truly know God.
